Reason # 28 to have a Blog: Publish your Whines.

I have been meditating on Bibliography for the last 24 hours now, since I designated today as devoted exclusively to getting my numerous sources for my various papers this semester hammered out. I'm sure Kate was a nice lady and everything, but I am not a big fan of her work. More accurately, I'm not a fan of the demands her work makes on my time. In all of this, I have come to two conclusions.

1. I don't like making bibliographies. I don't mind telling everyone which books I've read, but the time it takes to do all the little details is a killer. (no, not the band) I even use a cheater, and it still takes forever.

2. Bibliographies are based on a logical fallacy: Argumentum ad populum or Argumentum ad antiquitatem. Ad Populum is an argument from popularity, ad antiquitatem is an argument from tradition. My demonstrating that other people have thought similar things in the past does nothing to advance my argument.

All this being said, I understand why we have bibliographies, and I submit to their authority. I will not rebel, and even if I wanted to, I don’t have the energy.
