Joe Carter, of Evangelical Outpost fame, pointed out yesterday in a post called Cosmic Traitors, that all of our sins against God are essentially treachery. We thumb our noses at our Creator every time we sin, telling Him we know better.

What really gets me is that Dante lists traitors in the lowest ring of hell in his Inferno. So, there's Satan, in the middle, tormenting Judas. And all of us should be right there with him, because we've all followed both of them at some point. We all rebel, we all betray Christ. Hopefully, less and less, but only by the grace of God.
